National Defense Authorization Act Passes House

Includes formation of UFO study office and the registration of women for Selective Service.

On Thursday, the House of Representatives passed the 2022 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) by a vote of 316-113. The $768 billion defense bill includes the establishment of a UFO study office in the Department of Defense and the requirement for women to register for Selective Service.

The phenomenon of unidentified flying craft has received greater attention from Congress in the past year. The House’s response to unsatisfactory information from the Defense Department would create a permanent office for the investigation of unexplained sightings. The Senate Armed Services Committee version of the NDAA includes funding for the increased reporting by the Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force to Congress.

Members of the House Freedom Caucus voiced disapproval of parts of the NDAA. They stated the bill places “priorities like funding critical race theory for our service members and forcing our daughters to sign up for the draft ahead of ensuring our military has the resources to put the safety and security of America first.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the Senate as they work on their version of the defense authorization bill for 2022.
  • For officials in the Defense Department as they seek to answer questions about unidentified craft and the impact they may have on national security.
  • For wisdom for members of the Senate as they consider requiring females to register for the draft.
